It’s always nerve wracking watching the weather forecast ahead of our clients wedding day. Even though the cool, rainy weather moved their ceremony inside the barn at Hermitage Hill Farm and Stables, Ivan and Lindsay had a really beautiful day. The couple planned their wedding day to be a family-centered rustic farm affair with ton of special details throughout the day. The bride’s sister and matron of honor, Ashley, did her makeup; her sisters did the flowers, and the bridal party included siblings, in laws, nieces and nephews. Father of the Bride John DeVries led the guests in hymns during the ceremony, and Ashley and cousin Kyle sang a duet while Ivan and Lindsey performed a foot washing ceremony after their vows. A break in the weather between the ceremony and reception allowed us to get some stunning outdoor photos of the couple on the grounds at Hermitage Hill while the guests enjoyed cocktails and carrots with the equine residents of Hermitage Hill. After dining on an amazing meal by Eric Stamer Catering, the guests took to the dance floor to party the evening away. DJ Bill Knarr kept everyone, including the kids, dancing all night long. The evening wouldn’t have been complete without a rousing cheer from the VCU alum and fans to the school fight song, with other nods to VCU coming from the groom’s cake and the favors.
