Lake Anna Wedding Photographer – Lake Anna Wedding at Eagle’s Cove (Rental Property) – Kelley & Jim – Married!!

I feel like I talk about weather a lot on this blog as it relates to weddings… probably more than I should. I know how we all agonize over what kind of perfect weather we want on our perfect wedding day. That being said, the story here is about rain… lots and lots of rain. Kelley and Jim had a plan and a vision… all along the plan was to NOT rent a tent for their beautiful Lake Anna wedding. There was simply no way it would rain enough to keep them from getting married outside. As their wedding approached the forecast said otherwise, and the clouds delivered.

I still can’t get over how in a day’s time they turned the inside of this beautiful rental property into such a perfect little wedding venue. Don’t get me wrong, the house is amazing, and it was always capable of supporting this wedding, either outdoors or inside, but what the family did to decorate this house was impressive. It was a good thing they made the call. The moment Kelley walked down the aisle with her dad in her beautiful wedding gown on that Thursday afternoon, rain began falling down in bucketloads. In fact, the rain and winds were so extreme, the rain penetrated the screened in porch and soaked most of the table settings. That was some serious rain.

Kelley and Jim said their vows with their children standing on either side as their witnesses. Their “unofficial officiant” was one of Jim’s closest friends, and their love and joy shined through every moment of the ceremony. Goodrich Gourmet rallied, dried the wet linens, reset most of the seating indoors and served a delectable dinner for all the guests to enjoy. Jim and Kelley cut their cake made by their 16-year-old niece Rachael, and danced their first dance to a song sung by one of Jim’s sons. I loved all the personal details of this day. We wrapped up my photography coverage with a trip outside to take formals in the rain. I LOVE that they were willing to take some photos outside. It was totally worth it!!

Check the photos. They speak for themselves.
